Godzilla vs Kong A Drama?

For a movie that is getting a lot of talk, Godzilla vs Kong has had very little information presented on the status of development. Two weeks ago, we had a photo leak of the toys for the movie revealing major spoilers. Last week, Adam Wingard posted on his Instagram mentioning Godzilla vs Kong has a few more months left of production before it's finished. This week, those tiny morsels of news just keep coming, but still no sign of any new info in sight. This time coming from from a magazine called SFX Magazine. The information is just a small paragraph on a single page titled "Godzilla vs Kong: Is that a monster?."

It reads,

True to form, Wingard confirms Godzilla Vs Kong will involve "lots of monsters going crazy at each other", but he wants more than that. "At the end of the day, I want there to be an emotional drive to it," he says.

This information is nothing really new as he did say this exact same thing in an interview with Screen Crush in August 2017 confirming that he was going to make the audience emotionally invested in these characters. Here is the actual quote from that interview,

"I really want you to take those characters seriously. I want you to be emotionally invested, not just in the human characters, but actually in the monsters. It’s a massive monster brawl movie. There’s lots of monsters going crazy on each other, but at the end of the day I want there to be an emotional drive to it. I want you to be emotionally invested in them. I think that’s what’s going to make it really cool."

From this, it is just reconfirming Adam Wingard's plan for Godzilla vs Kong. I am hoping that he can pull it off, but I have my doubts. It is extremely difficult to pull off a monster movie that is emotionally driven. The movie has to have a well written story if Warner Bros. wants to take this movie seriously and be a success.
