My Description Idea For A Godzilla vs Kong Trailer

While we wait for the first trailer, I was thinking about how the first trailer might be presented. As some of you may know, I am part of The Nation Facebook group, run by Rob Rosado of Entertainment Talk Nation (ETN) on YouTube. I definitely recommend checking out his channel as he does make good content discussing Godzilla, Marvel, DC, wrestling, and the paranormal. The link to his channel can be found below.

Anyways, I made a post on The Nation about my idea of how the trailer may present itself and I thought to share it with all of you here. This is sort of based on the leaked set photos and videos from last year when the movie was still in production. Just in case, this is NOT an official trailer description. This is just an idea I had. So my description for the Godzilla vs Kong trailer would go something like this:

  • The preview starts with somebody saying along the lines of, "We're running out of time." The first thing we see is a plane with Monarch's logo scratched off and replaced with the APEX logo. Then, we hear, "His patience has run out. It's time to choose a side." We see a bomb drop on an island (not Skull Island) where Godzilla and the other titans were resting. Next, we see Alexander Skarsgard having a fist fight with the APEX pilot.

  • The next scene, we see Mark Russell at a Senate hearing having to listen to the senators blame Monarch and Godzilla for the Titan attacks across the globe in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters and declares Monarch to be shut down. However, we learn that the senators were paid off by APEX.

  • We see Kong on Skull Island watching the neighboring island explode and hears the screams of the Titans dying and Godzilla crying. On Kong's face, he knows this is not a good sign.

  • The next few scenes, Madison (played by Millie Bobby Brown) is seen with Julian Dennison at school as outcasts. However, they learn that their dads both work for an organization. Julian learns that Madison's dad works for Monarch as Julian's dad works for APEX and this leads to them questioning if they're going to be enemies now. On top of that, we see lots of action scenes with one group of soldiers fighting Godzilla and another group of soldiers fighting Kong as Kong tries to run away.

  • Then located off the shore of Skull Island, we see Godzilla attacking an aircraft carrier owned by Monarch out of sheer rage and confusion, but before he can totally destroy the carrier he is blocked by Kong, which he rises out of the ocean and stands upright. Kong is enraged with Godzilla for attacking the humans. We hear, "Are we with him..." as the preview shows Godzilla's face and next we hear, "or are we against him?" as it turns to Kong's face. After the two clash we see the logo "GODZILLA VS KONG".

This version of my description is a little longer. My original version was shorter and thought to add a couple of scenes. The reason why I made Godzilla become the villain in this description is because ever since 2014, we have been told by directors Gareth Edwards and Michael Dougherty that Godzilla is not a hero at all. He is an animal and like an animal they would defend themselves when they need to. Even in the synopsis for Godzilla vs Kong it states, "As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans' origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the Earth." Also, we have only seen glimpses showing this version of Godzilla not being heroic at all. Godzilla has destroyed essentially a huge chunk of Honolulu by himself, he has destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge, destroyed San Fransisco, we have seen him display threats towards Monarch at Castle Bravo, and we have seen him destroy Boston when he exploded at the end of Godzilla: King Of The Monsters. Godzilla tolerated humanity and their attacks against him for so long, but I think this time a line will be crossed.

Again, this is not an official description. This is just a trailer description that I came up with and is all based on speculation.

Let me know what you think will happen in Godzilla vs Kong. Do you think Godzilla will turn heel or do you think he will stay the same as the previous two movies?
