"To Review Or Not Review?" That Is The Question

Updated: Jan 3, 2019

Ever since my previous post, I have been pondering whether or not I should review Godzilla: The Planet Eater. "Should I refuse to watch it due to circumstances or should I still watch it regardless?" Questions like this keep popping in my head and I can't seem to figure which to choose. It would be easy to just say, "I refuse to watch it," but it is easier said than done and here are my reasons why I should and shouldn't watch Godzilla: The Planet Eater.

Shouldn't:

First off, I mentioned this many times, the previous two movies were not very good in terms of execution. The story, the characters, everything were very bland and uninteresting. They were trying to be different for the sake of being different without doing anything with it. With Godzilla: The Planet Eater, it looks like nothing really changed from the previous movie other than having Fake-Ghidorah in this one. Why should I was another 90 minutes watching this movie when I could be doing something productive?

Second of all, the directors of these movies already admitted that they had no interest in the Godzilla character and they go on to shame the main audience when we didn't like them. I don't have to give them my money anymore. I can (and probably most likely will) cancel my subscription to Netflix and not have to worry about having to watch it. I won't even buy the DVDs if they ever get released because why should I give my money to someone that doesn't care about the property or can't handle criticism? I can wait another few months until Godzilla: King Of The Monsters is released in theaters and give that movie my money. From how I am seeing it, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. care about the Godzilla property more than the grinches at TOHO that like to pretend that their movies are "too complex" for the puny minds of long time fans.

Should:

The reason why I should watch it is because it is the last movie in the trilogy. I started all the way back in January, so why not conclude it? If you start something you must finish it, right? The review is for all of you that come on here and read my posts. Maybe some of you really want to know what my thoughts are on this last movie regardless of the politics behind it. You are the readers and when I make a blog post, I try to dedicate my time and energy on my posts for you to read. Also, by doing a review of Godzilla: The Planet Eater if it does turn out as bad and boring like the previous two movies then at least we would know for sure. It would be unfair of me to all of you if I said, "I don't like what this person said so I am going to protest by not watching it and cancel my review!" Then, that would just make me sound like an asshole and I don't want to be an asshole to anyone. And if you guys think that I should still do a review then I would be more than willing to do one and it will be reviewed the same way like I do all of my other reviews.

So after all of that, I want to know what you guys think. Do you think I should or shouldn't review the movies? There is already a poll up on my Facebook page and on my Twitter as well where you can choose. Make sure to leave a comment as well on any thoughts you may have and follow me on my Facebook page or my Twitter page to stay up to date for more news, reviews, and discussions.
