2026: The March To 2027 & Announcements

Good morning, everyone! Happy New Year and welcome to 2026! With 2025 behind us, now, there is a lot to look forward this year. In February, season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will begin airing on Apple TV. However, the TV show is only to hold us for bigger stuff that fans are anticipating. We are going to see other stuff take rise by the end of the year.

As stated, season 2 of Monarch will begin airing on February 27. It will most likely be ten episodes like the last season. This means this season will end around May 8th or May 12th. So we have three months of Monsterverse content to watch, enjoy, and dissect or speculate over. Kong seems like to be more of the main focus this season based on the trailers. Since this season takes place on Skull Island, it does make more sense for Kong to appear more often. That is not to say Godzilla is not in the show. Godzilla will probably be in the show less.

Here is where my post gets speculative. This is based on recognizing patterns from previous years, but next thing to expect is the first preview for Godzilla Minus Zero. When we got the first preview for Godzilla Minus One, it was around July 2023. I do believe we are going to see our first preview of Minus Zero by around mid-July and the movie itself will release in November. So after season 2 of Monarch ends, we get a month break before the next wave of Godzilla content appears and start building excitement through marketing for this movie.

"Marketing" for Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, which releases March 27, 2027. When I say marketing, I meant we will start seeing toy leaks before we get the first trailer. Everyone is going to see what SpaceGodzilla is going to look like before we see anything from the movie. Whether pictures are coming from a toy convention or somebody digging through listings on Walmart and Target images will start surfacing. Fans are going to flag everything as spoiler until we get that first trailer, but won't stop talking about the leaks because fans are craving information. We just got confirmation about SpaceGodzilla being in the movie through the WGA website and it taken down two days after everyone already saw. So leaks are to be expected indefinitely.

When we do get our first trailer for Supernova, I do not think we are going to see much of SpaceGodzilla. He is going to be more or less hidden. The trailer is going to introduce us the characters, the tone of the movie, Godzilla and Kong fighting other monsters, and then maybe we see London as a crystal graveyard and we see SpaceGodzilla silhouetted with a hint of a glow from his horn or his dorsals before we see the title card.

I do think late November or early December of 2026 is when we will see the first trailer. By that time, Godzilla Minus Zero would have released. As fans are going to see the movie nine times, Legendary could drop the trailer for Supernova to build on that excitement. It will keep fans excited for 2027.

The question will be is if Godzilla x Kong: Supernova will be able to compete with The Resurrection of the Christ Part 1. A follow up to Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ, The Resurrection takes place immediately after Christ's crucifixion. For part 1 to come out on Easter Weekend is perfect for this movie as it will attract the Christian audience, which is a huge portion of America. Unless Supernova gets bumped up to an earlier date that is more comfortable I do think The Resurrection has a chance to be the number one movie that weekend.

Overall, this year is more of a year where stuff will get revealed in the second half of 2026 with Monarch season 2 giving fans that itch that needs scratching while waiting for the next movies to release. Time will have flown by after watching the show and then that is when the marketing for Godzilla Minus Zero and Godzilla x Kong: Supernova begin to amp up.

With that out of the way, I do have a couple of announcements to make. My first announcement is that I am writing a book. I have shared with some of you chapters of what I am writing already and I have received feedback, which I am very grateful for. Even if it is a little bit of feedback on a chapter, every little bit helps me to write the story better. I am taking the idea I had for a Godzilla anime, which I called it Godzilla Divine and turning it into my own. Ever since I shared that idea with everyone, I still couldn't get this idea out of my head. It was stuck until I first started writing the chapters. The story stays in-line with the summaries of the episodes, but the characters have evolved and certain plot-points changed or evolved to make the story flow better. I will share more details on the book at a later time, but it leads into my second announcement.

As I am writing this book, you are going to see less content on this blog. You will still get your reviews of Monarch season two and of Godzilla Minus Zero. Right now, I am reading a book to review by January 13th. So you can expect a book review coming up shortly. However, I won't be doing as many discussion posts or posting news as often. If I do post something on the blog, it will have to be an important piece of news or something really important to discuss. As you may or may not notice, I have not written a news report about the new untitled Monsterverse show coming to Apple TV. I have not even reviewed Troll 2 on Netflix due to the Christmas season. I have been busy with life outside the blog and also on my book, so keeping up with just news and reviews are becoming a bit of a struggle.
