Could This Cave Painting Hint At A New Monster Coming For The Monsterverse?

If you have not heard already (and I can't imagine you haven't at this point), Call of Duty: Warzone had launched their Monsterverse crossover called "Operation Monarch." In the game, you can summon either Godzilla or Kong by locating for an Orca device and they would go and destroy everything in your area. Another thing the game had included were Easter eggs hidden through out the map. One of these Easter eggs were cave paintings of the many different Titans that appeared in Godzilla vs Kong such as Godzilla and Kong, the Warbat, Skull Crawler, and Doug. Then, something else was revealed that was not in any Monsterverse movie at all and it has people wondering, "What is this mystery Titan in the cave painting?"

This cave painting was first discovered by @mikes_monsters on Twitter and he came upon the cave painting during his play session on Call of Duty. He took to Twitter and asked what kind of monster it is that is fighting Godzilla. Some have speculated it could be the Anguirus we briefly saw in Godzilla: King of the Monsters as a skeleton and others believe it to be SpaceGodzilla.

It is hard to determine if it is one or the other, but I can see how it can be either one. This titan has what looks to be spikes and a shell similar to our spiky boy, Anguirus, from the Godzilla series. The spiky tail is more akin to Anguirus than it does to SpaceGodzilla. However, it does not have the horn that we usually find with Anguirus. Even the skeleton had a horn that can be found on the tip of its nose. Also, the spikes on the back, head, and elbows are more like crystals similar to SpaceGodzilla than Anguirus.

Both of these monsters has had a minor appearance in a movie or concept art. For Anguirus, it was in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and SpaceGodzilla was more speculated based on a flying, Godzilla-like creature that was featured in the artbook for Godzilla vs Kong.

SpaceGodzilla(?) in Godzilla vs Kong: The Art of the Ultimate Battle Royale art book

Whether it is Anguirus or SpaceGodzilla, it begs the question on if this could be a tease for what is to come in a future Monsterverse installment. We have learned in Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the cave paintings are used as a way to tease what is to come in the next movie. For Godzilla vs Kong, there was no tease for a new film. It was only this year we got confirmation that a new Kong movie and MONARCH, the Monsterverse TV series for Apple TV+, are in production.

If this is a tease for a future movie, then this tease should not go unrecognized and ignored. One thing we do know is that in the art book for Godzilla vs Kong it does tease the idea of exploring more space monsters thanks to King Ghidorah's origin being established as coming from outer space in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Only time will tell if this cave painting does hint at a future movie installment or just neat Easter egg found in a video game.
