Ever since Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom last year, I have had not been keeping up with the latest developments of anything Jurassic Park related. That was until Jurassic World: Battle At Big Rock was announced a few days ago.
Jurassic World: Battle At Big Rock is an 8 minute TV special, which aired on the FX channel, that takes place after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The film concentrates on a family of five that were on a camping trip until a fight between an Allosaurus and a family of Nasutoceratops broke out in the middle of the camping grounds.
Through out the whole show, I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. Especially after the family of Nasutoceratops left, the show turned into a horror flick with the Allosaurus hunting this family. From beginning to end the situation this family was in just kept getting worse for them and you can even see just how much damage these dinosaurs made in the aftermath was terrifying as well. I even like in the beginning we hear about how these dinosaurs that are in the United States are affecting wild life.
I loved every moment from beginning to end and it makes me wonder if this is the direction Jurassic World 3 will be taking. If so, then I am all for it. I would love to see this franchise go into the realm of horror. Heck, I would even take a mini-series of Jurassic Park shows that are similar to Battle At Big Rock where each episode concentrates on different characters and their experiences with dinosaurs out in the wild. Even at the end of Battle At Big Rock there are all of these video clippings of these people and their experiences with dinosaurs in the wild. We see a child being chased by a flock of compsognathus (compies for short), a driver almost getting hit by a stegosaurus's tail, a pteranodon snatching a couple of doves that were released at a wedding, and more. If you missed out on watching this on FX, don't worry. You can watch this online on YouTube and I definitely recommend checking it out.
