Godzilla And Ultraman Coming To Netflix

Japanese poster with Netflix release date

This is not a drill! Godzilla: City On The Edge Of Battle has an official world-wide release date on Netflix! I repeat! This is NOT a drill! It was just announced last night that Godzilla: City On The Edge Of Battle (part two of the animated "Monster Planet" trilogy) will be released on Netflix on July 18th. On that same week, San Diego Comic Con will just be gearing up for opening weekend. There is no English trailer for this movie YET, but I suspect them to be released sometime today or tomorrow. When Godzilla: City On The Edge Of Battle is released, I will do a review on the movie like last time. Godzilla: Planet Of The Monsters is part one of the trilogy that was released on Netflix back in January. If you have not read my review for Godzilla: Planet Of The Monsters, I suggest taking a look. My review can be found here. If you want my "too long; didn't read" version of my review, then the gist of it is that I found part one very boring for the most part. I'm just keeping my hopes up now that it isn't as boring as the first movie. If it is, then at least we will have San Diego Comic Con to look forward to with information and a teaser trailer for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters.

Following not too far behind, ULTRAMAN will be coming to Netflix next year. This will be a cartoon series based on the currently running manga (comic book) series. instead of a live action TV show or movie. For those who don't know who Ultraman is, he is basically a superhero that grows large to fight giant monsters and aliens. At least that is the basic idea I got from the TV show. While I am not a fan of Ultraman, I do remember reading the manga a few years ago when it first started and remember liking it. However, I only read the first few chapters of the manga and I have not got around to reading more of it. From what I remember, this soft reboot of the series is sort of dark compared to the rest of the previous series that were child friendly. I had to look up names of each bad guy whenever they do a name drop to find out what they originally were before. Usually, they're monsters/aliens from Ultraman's past, but this is not the same Ultraman. It's his son that is now wearing the new Ultraman suit. Again, I only read a few chapters of the manga just from how I am describing it. So I apologize if I butchered the description. Anyways, I think Ultraman fans or any superhero fan will enjoy this one and should definitely check it out when it comes to Netflix or they can read the comic too.

What do you guys think? Will Godzilla: City On The Edge Of Battle be any good or do you think it is more of the same as the first movie? Are you excited ULTRAMAN coming to Netflix? Leave a comment and make sure to bookmark my page to stay up to date for more news, reviews, and discussions.
