New Photo From Godzilla KOTM Surfaces And More!

Updated: Jan 3, 2019

I just returned from my trip to Japan yesterday and I am still trying to get back into the swing of things. Like I said in one of my earlier post, I will be playing catch up on any news that surfaces once I returned. So let's get started with the latest piece of news.

A photo from the upcoming 2019 movie, Godzilla: King Of The Monsters, surfaced recently. The photo is from an article in the Total Films magazine talking about the movie. The photo shows a stand off between the terrorists that captures Vera Farmiga's character and another character on the right. I can assume that this is O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s character since we have seen him and his team infiltrating the base in Antarctica in the trailer, but there are bits of detail that is off between his character and the character on the right of the photo. For instance, in the photo we see this character is holding a pistol while O'Shea's character in the trailer is holding a rifle. Also, the outline of the coat is different like it is thicker from the camo uniform that O'Shea's character wears. Yet, all of this is just too hard to tell who is in the photo. Maybe it is O'Shea Jackson Jr. and maybe it isn't. For all we know, this could be Kyle Chandler's character since we know just from the trailer that he is a part of the rescue operation since his character will be wanting to save his family from the terrorists.

Behind them, though, is the real center piece of the photo. A giant claw frozen in the wall of ice. We only know one monster that we know in this movie that is frozen in a wall of ice and that monster is none other than King Ghidorah. This shot looks so creepy like the massive claw is reaching out to grab them. Ghidorah is not known for having hands in any of his previous designs, so the part we are most likely looking at is his foot, which looks very bird/avian-like. There is, however, something kind of odd. There is a claw that is curving in the opposite direction from the rest of the foot on the upper right above the small toe (see photo on the right). I could be mistaken, but it looks like a part of Ghidorah's wing. Look at how the claw curves up instead of down like the rest of the claws on the foot. You can barely see an outline around the claw that looks like a wing. Again, I could be mistaken, but it just looks rather odd to me.

Kong Design Revealed?

In other news, director, Adam Wingard, posted a photo of the off limits sign that says, "DANGER," "AREA OFF LIMITS," and "GREAT APE SIGHTED," with a picture of Kong that looks fully matured and slightly scarred. He is given a much bulkier look than his previous appearance in Kong: Skull Island and he has tooth that broke off or snapped. It is unknown if this is the official design for Kong or not. It could most likely be a place holder image until the real design for Kong can be revealed, but it sort of gives an idea on how Kong might look in the movie.

Godzilla's 65'TH Anniversary

TOHO CO. revealed their official logo for Godzilla's 65'th anniversary and announced a special event planned for Japanese Godzilla fans to celebrate the anniversary. TOHO will be sponsoring their "1st Annual Certification Exams" starting March 10, 2019. The exams are being held in Osaka, Japan and are divided into two difficulty levels, beginner and intermediate.
