More Merchandise Surfaces!

Yesterday on my last post, I talked about the new Godzilla figure from Jakks Pacific. I said that it looked real to me, but I wasn't sure and wanted to wait for official confirmation. Well, it appears that more merchandise from Jakks Pacific has made its way on to the internet confirming that these are actually real. I would still have preferred these to be officially announced from Jakks Pacific, but beggars can't be choosers and leaked images of merchandise do happen. So let's dive in and take a look at everything that was leaked.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS – 30 CM Godzilla Figure

I already talked a little bit about this figure in my last post that this figure is an updated version of Jakks Pacific's Giant Godzilla 2014 figure. I really do like how the dorsal plates look on this updated figure over their previous figure. Another thing to note is that this is not going to be as big as the 2014 figure. It looks like it will be around the same size as the NECA Godzilla 2014 figure that is 12 x 24 inches. I hope that I get to have a closer look when this is released.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS – Giant Size Godzilla Figure

Speaking of the Giant Size Godzilla 2014 figure, if you were not able to get one of these back in 2014 now you will have a second chance. The Giant Size Godzilla figure is getting a re - release

this year. Before NECA and S.H. MonsterArts released their figures, these were the hottest Godzilla 2014 toys on the market and it gave us our first look at the 2014 Godzilla design. So if you never had the chance to add this into your collection or want a really cool Godzilla figure for any kid, then this one is worth spending $50 on.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS – 15 CM RODAN Pack of Destruction and KING GHIDORAH Pack of Destruction Figures

King Ghidorah and Rodan are your average 6 inch action figures. They come with buildings that look like they came from the 2014 Godzilla packs and a small plane or helicopter. The interesting part of the plane is that this is the plane that looks like a stealth bomber that many fans were calling the Super – X, which was a flying tank from the movie Godzilla 1985, Godzilla vs Biollante, and Godzilla vs Destroyah. This plane was seen in the trailers flying away from Rodan and flying towards King Ghidorah. Now, we got an official name for this plane. On the box, the plane is called Argo. It is unknown what the name "Argo" stands for, but my best guess is that it could be short for Argonaut. If so, then it would be a call back to Jason And The Argonauts, which is about Jason who is destined to become king of Thessaly. He leads a team on a quest to find a golden fleece under the protection of Hera, queen of the gods. During his quest they fight a bunch of monsters such as harpies, a giant bronze Talos, a hydra, and an army of skeletons. In a way, Godzilla: King Of The Monsters has a similar story. Replace Jason with Godzilla, the argonauts with the Monarch organization, Hera with Mothra, and the golden fleece and the hydra with King Ghidorah. So there are a lot of similarities between Godzilla: King Of The Monsters and Jason And The Argonauts.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS – 9 CM Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs Rodan, and Godzilla and Mothra Diorama Packs

The next set of figures are diorama sets. All 3 sets include King Ghidorah, Rodan, or ***Mothra with a diorama piece and a Godzilla figure. These are not as big as the 6 inch figures, but they make a good diorama piece. The one for Ghidorah has a diorama picture of Fenway park, Rodan in Mexico, and Mothra at the Temple of the Moth in China. Each set has a different Godzilla figure as well each of them with a different design.

*** NOTE: Earlier, I had pictures of the Mothra and Godzilla figures, but they are now removed because of a possible major spoiler in the movie that has to do with Godzilla. While I do think it could just be a minor spoiler, I had the pictures removed just in case.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS – Electronic Godzilla Mask

If your kid ever wanted to be Godzilla for Halloween, this mask could be for him/her. This Godzilla mask makes sounds when the mouth opens and closes. This will allow any kid to scare any of your neighbors near by. It requires 3 AAA batteries for the voice feature to work.
