Do Not Expect Any Monster Movie Trailers During Super Bowl LV

It's that time year again! The Super Bowl is just a few short days away and people are wondering if anything will be shown this year. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to say that there is a possibility the possibility that we see any new footage of Godzilla vs Kong or A Quiet Place Part II is just not happening.

To start off, we should not be expect any Godzilla vs Kong footage during the Super Bowl. According to Deadline, they are not expecting any ads from any streaming services this year. HBO Max, Apple TV, Peacock, and Netflix are expected to sit on the sidelines.

Warner Bros. has not done an ad for the Super Bowl since V For Vendetta, which was back in 2006. Ever since then, they have decided against spending money for Super Bowl ads. The Super Bowl is the one year where people do like to watch the commercials. Companies are usually most creative with their commercials is during the Super Bowl and people like to talk about their favorite ones the next day. So the price on ad space for Super Bowl Sunday are much more pricier than any other given day.

Also, we just got a trailer for Godzilla vs Kong on January 24th, which was not so long ago. Dropping another trailer in front of the Super Bowl would be way too soon, anyways.

As for Paramount Pictures, they have reported to not be promoting any ads for A Quiet Place Part II. Last year, Paramount Pictures' line up of Super Bowl ads was A Quiet Place Part II, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Top Gun: Maverick and only one movie (Sonic The Hedgehog) was released before the lockdowns happened. Last time we heard about this movie, it was pushed back to September 17th, 2021. The only big promotion Paramount Pictures will be pushing at this year's Super Bowl is Coming 2 America, which is premiering on Amazon Prime on March 5th.

I don't expect another Cloverfield movie to randomly drop either since a new movie was just announced recently. Back in 2018, Netflix dropped a trailer for The Cloverfield Paradox, which was the movie was released right after the Super Bowl. There were a lot of rumors that it was going to happen that year and the rumors turned out to be true. Unless Paramount Pictures has been secretly working on the new Cloverfield movie without anyone knowing until recently there is no way another shadow drop for Cloverfield 2 should be expected this year.

The only movie left from Paramount is their animated kaiju movie, RUMBLE. This movie was originally expected to release January 2021, but was pushed back to February 18th, 2022. RUMBLE was first revealed in front of 20th Century Fox's deep sea horror film, Underwater. It is unknown if RUMBLE will have a trailer during this year's Super Bowl, but I say it would be a very slim chance since it is not a highly anticipated movie.

If there are any big surprises for this year's Super Bowl, and that is a big IF, I would say it would be the monster movie that Jordan Vogt-Roberts has been working on. Ever since Vogt-Roberts directed Kong: Skull Island, he had announced back in 2019 that he is working on his own monster movie. The only details about this movie was that it would take place in Detroit and will star Michael B. Jordan. While we could get more info on this movie later this year dropping a trailer during the Super Bowl would be a big surprise. Right now, news and trailers for upcoming monster movies have been dropping left and right ever since the trailer for Godzilla vs Kong dropped online. With everyone excited for Godzilla vs Kong, now would be the time for Vogt-Roberts to drop any news of this mystery monster movie while the kettle is hot.
