Ladies and Gentlemen, the hype train has left the station! This has gotten my hyped! Legendary has confirmed on their Twitter page that the Godzilla vs Kong trailer will be dropping this Sunday and they revealed a new poster to go with it! No, really. This is not the same poster/banner we have been seeing since 2019.
The poster is set in the city of Hong Kong with smoke and possibly some flames on the right side of the poster. This is probably where the final showdown will take place. How do we know this? In the poster for Godzilla (2014), Godzilla is in San Fransisco and San Fransisco is where the final fight between Godzilla and the MUTOs took place. In the Godzilla: King of the Monsters poster, Godzilla and King Ghidorah are fighting in Boston and Boston was where Godzilla's final confrontation with King Ghidorah took place. So here we are, Kong is in Hong Kong towering over the skyscrapers while looking down at Godzilla swimming towards Kong for their final fight.
On the top of the poster, we have the movie's tag line, "ONE WILL FALL," and on the bottom of the poster we have information on where to see this movie, the release year (we already know it will be coming out on March 26th), the studio logos, and a note on the bottom saying it will be on HBO Max for only 31 days.
It is official that the trailer is coming out on Sunday. It will most likely dropping in the morning according to YouRocket on Twitter. We will be so hyped on Sunday that we will forget to have breakfast (Don't forget to eat breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day). If you're not on that hype train yet, then what are you doing? Get on that hype train. It already left the station. Go chase it down and hop on it.
Lastly, the Monarch Sciences website has updated. This is the first time the website has had an update since Godzilla: King of the Monsters was released in 2019. When you go to the website, it looks all glitchy like perhaps someone hacked the website. You come across Monarch's logo and their mission is now changed to "Discovery and Defense in a Time of Monsters."
Then, when you click the enter button, you are greeted with a loud siren. So take some caution with the volume before clicking the enter button. Perhaps muting your volume will be the best way to go. However, it could just be me, but I noticed while listening to the sirens that there is some sort of white noise that sounded metallic. Maybe a clue? You are also met with warning signs saying "EARLY WARNING SYSTEM" "TITANUS GOJIRA AND TITANUS KONG ARE ON A COLLISION COURSE". So far, those are the only updates on the website. It may get updated after the trailer drops on Sunday, so make sure to check back at around that time, as well.
